Background

Kirsten Prout was born September 28th, 1990 in Vancouver, Canada. When she was ten years old, Kirsten began her career and continued to attend high school while working in film and television. Her first major break came when she landed the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture Elektra. Soon after the film’s release, Kirsten began her run as the demure Amanda Bloom on ABC Family’s Kyle XY, a lead on the show for three years. She then studied literature at Montreal’s Mcgill University before returning to film and working on Summit’s Eclipse, part of the hugely successful Twilight Saga.

Having grown up in front of the camera, Kirsten continues to thrive in the industry and seek new cinematic opportunities. An avid reader, she also enjoys a continued study of literature. Kirsten has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Europe, as well as South Africa, and takes great interest in new cultures. Kirsten has consistently worked in both television and film, and credits her interest in acting to her sensitivity and love of story.
